Kate Middleton has today been hailed as the ultimate beauty icon for British women. The Duchess of Cambridge, 35, beat former X-Factor judge and new mum Cheryl, 33, to claim top spot. Six out of ten women said they regularly copied Kate’s look, choice of make up or hair style. Catherine Zeta-Jones, who recently posted a picture on Instagram of her bathroom cabinet, crammed full of around 70 beauty products, was third. This Morning host Holly Willoughby was fourth and Angelina Jolie was fifth. Others legendary beauties to make the list include late Breakfast At Tiffany’s actress Audrey Hepburn and Hollywood stunner Michelle Pfeiffer. Yesterday Richard Mears of Instant Effects, which carried out the poll, said: ‘’Kate Middleton is an iconic natural beauty who is confident in her look and her style. ’She is still young, so she is able to influence women of all ages.’’
Britons did well in the study, claiming eight of the top ten, spots while U.S-based beauties dominated the list between numbers 11 and 20. Former Corrie actress Michelle Keegan, 29, was sixth and model Rosie Huntington-Whiteley, 30, was seventh. Audrey Hepburn, who died at the age of 64 in 1993, was eighth and Game of Thrones star Emilia Clarke, 29, was ninth. Pirates of The Caribbean actress Keira Knightley, 32, completed the top ten. Further down the list were Hollywood stunners Kate Beckinsale, Megan Fox and Cindy Crawford. Kelly Brook came 14th, ahead of Blake Lively, Jennifer Lopez and Scarlett Johnasson.
